Hobbs, Winter & MacDonald

The firm was established by A.C. Loach, B.C.L.S. in 1953 and has gradually expanded to its present size - consisting of three professional land surveyors, and a staff of 17 people.

HWM has recently purchased the assets of Chapman Land Surveying Ltd. We are now the proud owners of Chapman Land Surveying’s records, data and files. In addition, we are excited to have the staff from Chapman join our team.

Our Focus

As professional Land Surveyors, the partners co-ordinate a team which is fully experienced in all aspects of survey work. Over the past sixty years, the firm has undertaken a variety of survey projects throughout British Columbia while being primarily involved in residential and commercial land development in the Lower Mainland area.

Our Scope

Currently there are four field crews working throughout BC and Canada on legal, topographic, and construction surveying projects.

Topographic Surveys

Hobbs, Winter & MacDonald can provide accurate and detailed topographic survey plans showing elevations, contours and ground features. This information is used along with property lines and setbacks to allow architects and engineers design new structures and improvements.

Construction Surveys

Hobbs, Winter & MacDonald can help you layout the correct position of your new building in order to conform to setbacks and zoning requirements. We know how time sensitive construction projects can be and pride ourselves on our speedy service.

Legal Surveys

Hobbs, Winter & MacDonald has extensive knowledge of Legal / Cadastral Surveying. Legal Surveys are primarily associated with the establishment or re-establishment of real property boundaries and are prepared under both Provincial and Federal statutes.
